The story
Inspired by Métis beadwork
Inspired by Indigenous water teachings, Michelle painted this turtle piece during a Métis Arts and Activism course. It was later gifted to share the teaching: the turtle thrives in balanced waters and teaches patience, grounding and connection to mother earth.
The spirit dot symbolizes the spirit bead in Indigenous beadwork, a deliberately placed flaw that teaches humility and reminds us that beauty exists with imperfections.
